چکیده
The discovery of diffuse sub-PeV gamma-rays by the Tibet AS$_\gamma$ Collaboration promises to revolutionize our understanding high-energy astrophysical universe. It has been shown that these data broadly agree with prior theoretical expectations. We study impact this on a well-motivated new physics scenario: PeV-scale decaying dark matter (DM). Considering wide range final states in DM decay, number density profiles, and numerous background models, we find provide most stringent limit lifetime for various Standard Model states. In particular, strongest constraints are derived masses between few PeV tens PeV. Near-future can be used discover DM.

Testing the Dark Matter Scenario for PeV Neutrinos Observed in IceCube.
Late time decay of very heavy dark matter is considered as one of the possible explanations for diffuse PeV neutrinos observed in IceCube. We consider implications of multimessenger constraints, and show that proposed models are marginally consistent with the diffuse γ-ray background data. Critical tests are possible by a detailed analysis and identification of the sub-TeV isotropic diffuse γ-r...
متن کاملThe Search for Dark Matter via Gamma Rays from Astronomical Sources Using EGRET and GLAST
EGRET, aboard NASA's CGRO satellite, has made important contributions to establishing limits on WIMP dark matter in the galaxy. This paper will review these EGRET results. Based on past limits and theoretical estimates, future potential dark matter results from GLAST are projected.
متن کاملSearch for Dark Matter
We know a lot about dark matter (DM). First of all we know it exists: modified gravity models cannot explain the spatial segregation between the regions where most of the mass is and where most of the visible matter is in the “bullet cluster” [1] (a cluster formed by two colliding galaxies). In this cluster, the regions where most of the gravitational potential is (as mapped though gravitationa...
متن کاملGamma Rays from Dark Matter
I give a brief review of high energy gamma-ray signatures of dark matter. The decay of massiveX-particles and subsequent hadronization have been suggested as the origin of the highest energy cosmic rays. Propagation over cosmological distances to Earth (as would be the case in some topological defect origin models for the Xparticles) results in potentially observable gamma-ray fluxes at GeV ene...
متن کاملObservation of PeV Gamma Rays from the Monogem Ring with the Tibet Air Shower Array
We searched for steady PeV gamma-ray emission from the Monogem ring region with the Tibet air shower array from 1997 February to 2004 October . No evidence for statistically significant gamma-ray signals was found in a region 111 ≤ R.A. < 114, 12. 5 ≤ decl. < 15. 5 in the Monogem ring where the MAKET-ANI experiment recently claimed a positive detection of PeV highenergy cosmic radiation, althou...
